Carolyn Mark aka The Queen of Vancouver Island aka The Boozy Chanteuse was last seen at Hero's Welcome sitting in with Foster Motel.
Carolyn Mark grew up on a dairy farm outside of Sicamous, BC with her Austrian father, her English mother and her Canadian brother. Her musical training was started at an early age and continues to this day.
After theatre school, Ms Mark formed The Vinaigrettes (1990-1997) and toured all over. Then came Hathead, The Metronome Cowboys and most notably The Corn Sisters with Neko Case.
Carolyn released 10 albums on Mint Records including a duets record and a loving tribute to Robert Altman's Nashville.
Her latest release is called Off Season and she is currently working on Still Partyin' with long-time appliance Tolan McNeil.
This summer Carolyn and The New Best Friends toured to Alberta where they joined forces with their beloved associates NQ Arbuckle to play songs from their Juno nominated and West Coast Music award-winning album Let's Just Stay Here. The tour finale saw our heroes headlining the 20th anniversary of Soulfest in Twin Butte.
Ms Mark is lucky to be appearing at Hero's Welcome with The New Best Friends: Paul Rigby (guitars, mando), Kathleen Nisbet (violin, vocals), Terri Upton (upright bass, vocals). Book a sitter! Tell both your friends!
